Our Process

In-house design, engineering, testing, and delivery

We take ownership of every stage of the façade process with quality, accountability, and certainty, built in from the first conversation to final installation.

Bringing together design, engineering, physical testing and delivery into one team, we work collaboratively with architects, developers and main contractors.  Engaged early, we overcome the traditional gaps that usually open up between design intent and what can actually be built, tested and afforded.

Materiality, constructability, compliance, and budget, are all worked through up front so the creative vision survives contact with reality, and everyone moves forward with certainty.

1

Strategy

Every project starts with a conversation about vision, design intent and constructability. We work alongside your design and construction teams to understand the constraints that matter; architectural, structural, programme and budget, and to surface risk early so it can be resolved without budgetary impact.

2

Concept Design

Our designers and engineers run creative workshops with the project team, working through every detail and turning agreed intent into concept drawings, backed by preliminary engineering. This phase can produce samples, 3D models and early prototypes, along with early estimates and progressive budgeting.

3

Engineering

Insol engineers size structural components against the relevant codes & standards, and the performance requirements of each material and system. We're often able to find constraints while there's still room to resolve them, removing the costly reworks and supplementary structures that come from validating too late.

VISUAL & PHYSICAL MOCK-UPS

We build full-size prototypes and 1:1 mock-ups before committing to production. They allow us and the project team assess fit, finish, tolerance and buildability, refine the detailing, and give architects and owners a real-life preview of the finished façade.

WIND TESTING

WindLab is our own in-house testing facility, with an open-jet, high-power wind tunnel generating flow velocities well beyond typical design conditions. With full variable-speed control, WindLab provides both low-speed acoustic testing and high-speed structural testing. It is the only facility in the southern hemisphere capable of large-scale component testing to AWES-QAM-2-2024.

Documentation

With the design proven and tested, documentation keeps project moving. Shop drawings begin early, providing details we can release to other critical trades and fold into the construction documents ahead of time.

5

Procurement

Procurement begins as early as concept design, locking in decisions on materials and finishes so long-lead items and critical-path elements are released in time and fabrication is scheduled to meet critical project milestones.

Fabrication & Installation

Components are fabricated to precise tolerances, quality-checked, and trial-fitted before they leave the workshop. Installation is delivered through a carefully selected network of trusted fabricators and installation crews.
