The louvres at Ormiston Hospital are perfectly matched to the building's purpose, providing privacy for recovering patients while letting the sun brighten the private rooms, working its magic on the mind after the Doctors have worked theirs on the body. 

When the parishioners of the Church drew a curved line in the ground that would be shared with the new Wanaka Community Hub building, they unknowingly influenced a design with a curved form that gently leads and welcomes visitors to the main entrance. 

Tankini Town Centre expansion, fuelled by a growing residential population, now includes a new food and entertainment venue.  Derby Square has a purposeful home-like feel and is where locals go to relax and socialise, rather than be sold to.  It’s a subtle difference…that makes all the difference.

Murray Bay Primary School’s vision is to ‘unlock the uniqueness and potential in every student’.  The design of their new building will undoubtedly help.  It uses louvres and window shrouds to help reduce glare and excessive health build-up, with further colour coded louvres adding a sense of place and connectivity with students.

Thirty Eight Elizabeth is a vibrant addition to downtown Tauranga that serves multiple purposes.  For some, it's a place to shop for the latest fashions.  For others, it’s somewhere for a meal and an evening out.  For residents, it’s simply home.  Common to all purposes is a design that feels like it should be there.

The Nairn building at Mount Albert Grammar cleverly projects both tradition and change, simultaneously allowing lessons from the past and ideas for the future to combine, creating a character and place that sets students up for success, today. 

The finished Mairangi Pump Station illustrates how critical infrastructure can serve an architectural purpose, with benefits that flow (no pun intended) from the functional to the aesthetic.  It’s a praiseworthy approach and one we hope might spill over to other parts of the country (pun absolutely intended). 

The largest Kainga Ora development to date is equally impressive in scale as it is in detail.  Some of which will shine through the windows with dappled light dancing in the interior spaces courtesy of those Insol sunshades. 

The facade at BMW Motorrad guides visitors through a purposeful decompression zone and delivers a purposeful message that’s bold and unapologetic. 

The balcony at Harbor Hospice offers a brief respite from the serious reasons patients and visitors have for being there.  Stepping out onto it provides a breath of fresh air and a moment in the sun.  And sometimes, that’s exactly what’s needed.
