Historically kinetic facades have served purely as a form of artistic expression. Yet they‘ve recently come to offer a much broader purpose - architects are increasingly looking to them as a solution to complex design issues.

The only predictable thing about weather is its unpredictability. Equally unpredictable is how building facades will react. Sudden failure of facade elements at considerable height is likely to have catastrophic consequences In all instances, the danger may be felt both physically and financially.

There’s something appealing about patterns and it’s relatively normal to see them in the stars, in the lines of buildings, cracks in the pavement, or anywhere there’s a seemingly repeatable occurrence of shapes and lines.  

We’ve always been quietly fascinated by the use of lighting and relish the opportunity to integrate lighting into our facades. Frank Loyd Wright was onto something when he said “more and more, it seems to me, light is the beautifier of the building”.  He was right.  

Maintaining a great first impression is often as easy as maintaining the facade.  And that’s pretty easy too.  With a little care and attention, a facade will retain its lustre and appeal for many years.
